“While there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see.”
Dorothea Lange
Today’s World Photography Day 19th August 2021, is an annual celebration all over the world about all things that have to do with photography that are out in display in every exhibition halls but let us also note all dedicated photographers who are instrumental in making this celebration happen.
Photography is not just a hobby, not just a job but a calling. A calling that requires one to be selfless, to be genuinely interested in each subject that is taken to make a connection so that the outcome of every photo speaks to us loud and clear what it was meant to tell for in every photographs there is a story behind that only the photographers can make it known. While some photographers make it big time and earning big bucks, a lot of them don’t and in spite of that along with the dangers it poses to them they still do it as a service to their country, to their people. So today, I would like to give a tribute to all photographers who took photos not just in times of happiness but especially in dangerous times, going in to places to document important events and happenings that may impact our lives, our future and for the future generations.
