“In the world all photographers should support Rohingya Refugee photographers and ought to help them in any way possible. It’s of utmost importance to show solidarity with their valuable hard work and to promote their efforts by showing their photos to the world. Photographers from all around the world are united in one big family and should therefore value and support the ambitious and challenging work of the others. We, the Rohingya photographers, are determined to show the life, development and hardship within our community expressed in our photos. This will never stop. So we request kindly to take responsibility and to share this message to everyone. Thank you.” Abul Kalam, Rohingya refugee and photographer, Kutupalong refugee camps, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, 2021 Abul Kalam photography

Chairman Muhib Ullah of Arakan Rohingya Society for Peace and Human Rights (ARSPH) was murdered on September 29, 2021 around 8:30 pm Bangladesh time, inside ARSPH office after praying according to one member of ARSPH who witnessed the crime and is now in hiding for fear of retaliation from the cold blooded killers. Mr Mohib Ullah is survive by his wife and children. The late human right activist was passionate about his advocacy for human rights; truth and justice for his people, the Rohingya. He always represented his people whenever and wherever he had the opportunity to do so in the international stage and spoken up about the crimes against humanity done by the government of Myanmar and its military to the Rohingya. The slain leader was highly respected by the Rohingya and his death is not only a great loss for his family but also to the whole world and to all human rights advocates as well. From one human rights to another, I, Angela Villamero write this article to strongly condemn the cowardly act of those reprobates who killed Mr Muhib Ullah and together with my friend Abul Kalam , we pay tribute to the late leader Muhib Ullah. Our sincere condolences to your family. May Allah grant your soul eternal rest in peace in the heavens and protect your family. Thank You for your service to the Rohingya and to your commitment to peace , truth and justice. #Rohingya #refugees #EndStatelessness Photos courtesy of Abul Kalam photography .
